Zuckerberg Considers Future Integration of Cryptos Tech in Facebook

One of the wealthiest and most influential people in the world, the Facebook co-founder and its CEO Mark Zuckerberg displayed his desire to weigh in the realm of cryptocurrency, giving some hopefulness to crypto devotees in 2018.

Listing his previous accomplishments in the self-development as well as outlining the upcoming challenges for the New Year in the Facebook blog on January 4, Zuckerberg mentioned the technology of encryption that is used in cryptocurrencies as a tool for decentralization.

Cryptos to Fight Centralization

Zuckerberg explained that currently among the difficulties that Facebook is facing are the propaganda, which is coming from some countries, and hate speech. Facebook CEO believes that it is possible to make the time, spent on this social network, efficient and to overcome such challenges.

Meanwhile, as he said, the realm of technology is focused on issues of decentralization at the moment. Facebook leader stated that people started losing faith in this phenomenon as states’ authorities now use technologies to keep an eye on their citizens. However, as Zuckerberg said, there are some new trends to fight centralization:

“There are important counter-trends to this – like encryption and cryptocurrency – that take power from centralized systems and put it back into people's hands.”

Decentralization, which is demonstrated in the functioning of cryptocurrencies, might help to give the dominion back to people, believes Zuckerberg. And even though it is more robust to control it, he is very enthusiastic by studying such technologies in-depth. Moreover, Zuckerberg said he is also considering integrating such technologies in Facebook.

Facebook Getting Closer to the World of Crypto

Zuckerberg is not the only person who is demonstrating optimism concerning cryptocurrency. According to Bloomberg, last year the Facebook’s VP of messaging products David Marcus became the board member of one of the giant cryptocurrency exchanges called Coinbase. Marcus once said he has been overwhelmed with cryptos for the past six years and has even been engaged in this sphere.
