The ICO will die

I bet the Google is sick of "Cryptocurrency" or “ICO” queries.

In the middle of December 2017, statistics were as follows: 234 ICOs worth $3.7 billion, the "average check" was already $15.7 million. Five projects managed to attract more than $150 million; the most significant ICO belongs to Filecoin - $257 million.

We’ve seen crowdfunding rise, allowing anybody with a laptop and a bank card to support a startup and receive a quick return in the form of merchandise and other gifts.

Are ICOs a good investment in 2018?

According to WalletInvestor, ICO esteems will crash more than 5,600 percent between January and July, finishing with zero esteem. So the number of successful ICOs will be noticeably reduced in 2018 compared to 2017.

In the meantime, the founder of Ethereum Vitalik Buterin thinks that crash doesn’t mean a fatal outcome for the token market. There are some excellent ideas, there are a lot of terrible ideas, and there are a lot of very, very bad ideas, and quite a few scams as well. I expect that ICO‘s that people will start building in 2018 and 2019 will, in general, be of substantially higher quality. Especially once we start seeing what the consequences of the first wave of tokens are in the medium-to-longer term.

He also believes that ICO in their present form will not survive in 2018. The Wild West will be replaced by a much more rigorous and consistent standard for ICO - regulators will inevitably limit the abilities of the crawling methods by prohibiting or restricting the sale of tokens and requiring complete information about the owners of purses.

Of course, the purchase of a token (financial product) that promises to pay back investments, property rights and votes, as well as other opportunities common to classical securities, will undoubtedly attract the attention of the relevant authorities. It will require an appropriate approach - with a memorandum on proposal, obligations, forecasts, reports on the use of funds and so on.

Last year gave investors an incredible profit from investing in ICO. This market allowed everyone to invest in the company at an early stage of development, and the companies themselves - to get the necessary financing. Will there be the same results next year? We believe that ICOs imply both vast profits and potential, as well as massive risks.
