Crypto-Expert Puts $6 mln on a Bet that Bitcoin Reaches $280k by 2023

As the last months of 2018 are fast approaching, crypto-enthusiasts keep forecasting the potential price of the "king of all cryptos." There have already been made claims that bitcoin would skyrocket to highs from $25,000 to $250,000 in the foreseeable future, but now the predictions have come onto a new stage.

An anonymous yet famous crypto-specialist has gone for a bet to say that bitcoin will be traded at $280,000 by 2023. The risky BTC fortune-teller even puts at stake $6.27 million for such a gamble. $280,000 is a price of a Berkshire Hathaway share, by the way.

A reportedly known crypto-expert put 8.5 million Australian dollars on the fact that the price of the “Big Daddy” would surge to $280,000 in five years. The news with regard to a bet was reported by Tom Waterhouse, one of the leaders of the Australian bookmaker market. It’s him who also said that the expert wished to remain anonymous.

In his Twitter, Tom Waterhouse wrote:

“Big Bet: Well known Crypto expert has just requested a bet of 8.5m AUD to win $1.2bn that a Bitcoin will exceed the price of a Berkshire Hathaway share (c.$280k) by 2023."

The elite bookmaker also said he had already helped the person, who wished to make a bet, with a major syndicate. Waterhouse added that he hopes the expert and the company find common ground.

More Bullish Than Tim Draper?

There have already been made lots of bold predictions, yet the latter hasn’t outperformed the one which belongs to Tim Draper, a notorious crypto-bull and billionaire. This year April he claimed that by 2022, bitcoin would be traded at $250,000.

Another “crazy” predictor is John MacAfee, he's also a known figure in the crypto-industry. Last year he said bitcoin’s price would surge to $2.4 million just in three years.

Among the most realistic crypto-optimists, however, remains Fundstrat’s Tom Lee, who says bitcoin might go as high as to $25,000 by the end of 2018.
